Detailed Description
The letter for the confirmation of an award is a summary of specific information regarding a student’s award and period of study.
A letter of confirmation can be issued to either a student or a 3rd party. In accordance with the Data Protection act, to release information to a 3rd party a disclaimer from the student must be provided giving permission for the information to be release. .
Liverpool John Moores University can provide confirmation to third party of the award of a degree. In order to comply with the Data Protection Act 1998 all requests from third parties must:
- Be made in writing (on headed paper and signed) and
- Be accompanied by written and signed consent from the data subject i.e. the student
These documents can be sent to LJMU by:

A letter confirming an award will only be issued at the discretion of the University and therefore it reserves the right not to issue the letter or specify the reason for this decision. No refund will be given in this situation.
A charge of £10 is made for this service.
