Detailed Description
A practical, live online course that takes you from sequencing output to interpretable metabarcoding results. Running 14 to 16 July 2026, 10:00 to 14:00 UK time each day, this course is designed for those who need the bioinformatics skills only, without the wet lab component.
Day one provides a background session to bring online‑only participants up to speed on the laboratory steps that generated the data. The remaining days cover demultiplexing, quality control, taxonomy assignment and results interpretation, using example metabarcoding datasets from Oxford Nanopore sequencing. You will leave able to handle your own data and produce robust, publication‑ready outputs.
Suitable for researchers, students and environmental professionals with an interest in metabarcoding data analysis. No specialist coding experience is required, though a basic understanding of molecular biology concepts is helpful. The course fee is £350.
