Many of our alumni tell us that they feel fortunate to have had a wonderful time at LJMU (or at one of its former representations), studying the subjects that interested them and getting involved with the activities of student life.
However we also know that many students increasingly have to make choices that can compromise these opportunities but with the support of generous individuals, companies and organisations, LJMU have been able to help hundreds of talented students who have experienced financial difficulty to realise their potential.

We believe that family background and financial circumstances should not debar people from having dreams, nor achieving them.

Today, probably more than ever, changes to student financial support and variable fees make scholarships and hardship support vital in higher education.

Named Scholarships, Prizes, Bursaries and LJMU’s Opportunity Fund all help to ensure that financial hardship need not deter talented individuals from fulfilling their educational potential. Your support creates opportunities for the most promising students who otherwise might not have had the financial resources to come to LJMU or for those faced with the possibility of abandoning their studies.
