The Research Institute for Sport and Exercise Sciences (RISES) at Liverpool John Moores University is proud to announce that it will host this inaugural meeting on energy stress, bringing together experts, early career researchers and the next generation of scientists, practitioners, and clinicians working in endocrinology.

This meeting will bring together a lineup of world-class researchers working on the effects of energy deficit and low energy availability on the endocrine and physiological responses in humans. Drawing expertise from research and applied practice from the general population, active individuals, and elite athletes alike, the content of the meeting will highlight the overlap existing in these seemingly divergent populations.

The meeting will provide a unique opportunity for researchers and practitioners to understand in further depth the responses to ‘energetic stress’ in all populations and have access to the latest knowledge, while providing unique insights into the main questions remaining to be answered in the area.

This meeting will take the form of a one-day symposium where the speakers will present their latest scientific research and viewpoints on the topic. The meeting will be designed to provide ample opportunities for discussion and interactions between speakers and delegates.
